Exocad MillBox Intergration

This guide explains how to set up the integration of MillBox into Exocad software.

We can create an Automatic workflow by reading some information about a dental CAD job.

Open the WorkParametersConfig Tool.exe located in C:\EXOCAD\DentalDB\bin

Select an existing material that is similar to (general characteristics) the Material that you want add and make a copy

Set your desired name.

In this way you can copy and paste the same settings for all types of reconstructions without having to set them all manually and your Material Name.

Remember to create a copy of “your Material” and set it for "_3ax" like this:

Glass Ceramic_3ax

This is needed to have the same materials for 3ax Machine Selection possible in Exocad.

*The first time you create the _3ax copy of your material it will be written like this:

Nano Ceramic/ Nano Ceramic
Nano Ceramic3ax/ Nano Ceramic3ax

To remove the name with _3ax we must have to edit the Material.xml located in DentalDB/Languages

Now go in: C:\EXOCAD\DentalDB\languages
And edit the file: Materials.xml
You can right click and open with Notepad or Notepad ++

Add the selected lines in your Materials List.
This will write to the file, the name of the desired Materials to be in the .constructioninfo file.
Now Nano Ceramic_3ax / Nano Ceramic_3ax will be showed without _3ax.

Close and re-start the WorkParametersConfigTool.exe
Once you restart, you can see, like picture, the actual shown name.
Repeat this process to create your Materials List shown and written in Exocad.

• Materials.xml ~ Used to create a relationship between Exocad Materials and MillBox Materials.
• WorkParamsDB-CIMsystem-Standard.xml ~ Used to create a relationship between Exocad Materials and MillBox Materials.

Go in .......\exocad-DentalCAD-64Bit-2019-12-17\DentalDB\config and edit the defaultsettings-db.xml

Copy and paste these following lines of code into the defaultsettings-db.xml:

       <ExecPath value="C:\MillBox_CIMsystem\millbox\MillBox.exe">
         <Params value="%ci"/>
       </ExecPath>
     </StartButton>

Add the selected lines in your Materials List.

This will write the name of the desired Materials to be in the .constructioninfo file.

Now Nano Ceramic_3ax/ Nano Ceramic_3ax
Will be showed without _3ax

Paste our WorkParamsDB-CIMsystem.xml in the folder ......\exocad-DentalCAD-64Bit-2019-12-17\DentalDB\config

Go into the Control Panel of MillBox using the elevated dealer codes to open.

Uncheck "ignore supplemental CAD files (Constructioninfo, .pts, ETC...)

Set the new Material list in Exocad
