Adding New Material in Millbox.
This quick guide will walk you through being able to create a new disc and how to adjust the thickness and size in Millbox.
In this example, we will need a wax disc of 98x18mm.
In the list we have 98x16mm and 98x20, so we'll need to create the 98x18mm disc.
In Millbox, use key combination: CTRL+D
This will open the Configuration box.
If not already selected, move to the tab marked “Blocks”
Scroll through the options, until you find the material you want to create an additional size for.
(You can alternatively create one from scratch if preferred)
Take note of the Size Column on the right. (You can scroll over if it’s covered up)
This shows the dimensions of pre-existing blocks / discs in the library.
For this example, we will create a Wax 98x18mm disc from a pre-existing entry.
- Select a pre-existing Wax disc (We are selecting 98x 16mm)
- Click Copy
This brings up a Stock Configuration menu.
Find the “Size” option and change the 2nd field (Height) with the desired number and click “Okay” to create the stock.
If you want the material to be saved in it’s own sub-directory for easy sorting, you can customize the Product Name to make this unique and check the box below labeled, “Create subfolder for used blanks (Product Name)”.
This will sort any stock created under this name into a separate directory; so the partially used stock count will be separate from other materials in the same material family. (i.e. Standard Zirconia vs Katana ZR)
Click “OK” - MillBox will return to the configuration window.
One thing to note is that the newly created block is now at the very bottom of your list. You’ll want to sort this item to be grouped next to the materials already present in the archive so that the thicknesses are displayed in the proper order.
By Clicking and holding on the number in the first column, we can drag the new entry in the list to align this with the pre-existing materials in the archive.
When finished, you can click Save.
MillBox will let you know it needs to restart to have these changes take effect.
Click Yes to restart MillBox.
Once MillBox restarts, you will now find the newly created disc available for use.
