Important Fields for Discs

Use the Article Table of Contents on the right to learn more about key fields in this menu below:

Material name

This Field determines the parent material that the blank will be filed under for selection.

Shape Type

This will vary based on the type of blanks you are using:

  • Rectangular
    • Pin/Block Type Materials like Glass Ceramics
  • Round
    • Disc Shaped materials (most common)
  • Cylinder
    • Extruded material / Cylindrical stock (Ideal for single abutments)

Producer

This can be representative of the company that manufactures the material ie: Ivoclar, 3M, Etc.

Product Name

This Field would typically be a Product Number. It will be visible selecting material

Code

This Field would typically be a Product Number. It will be visible selecting material 

Group ID

This ID can be used to control which machines are able to see this blank or can be associated with a specific fixture file. This requires back-end configuration within MillBox. Please conctact your dealer for help performing this change.

Color ID

If you have pre-shaded discs, you can set their shade within the Stock Management window by setting the Color ID accordingly.

Size (Diameter, Height)

Set the OD (Outer Diameter) of your disc in mm (millimeters) and the thickness (height) accordingly.

Multishade 

This option is utilized to create or modify Multi-Shaded materials (Multi-Layered).
When the check box is selected, a small icon with layers will appear to the left. Select this icon to open the Multi-Shade Configuration Window.

Scale Factor

This is a default scaling factor - For Zirconia, it is defaulted to 1.25 - For materials without shrinkage, this should always be 1:1

Scale Behavior

  • Dont Ask User / Default Scale Factor (Above)
    • This will default to the Scale Factor set when this disc is selected.
  • Ask X, Y, Z Factors
    • Expansion rates for X, Y and Z will all be prompted. Some materials that are not isostatically pressed require individual scaling factors.
  • Ask Single Factor from User
    • Materials with a single / uniform scaling factor will use this setting.
  • Amman Girrbach Codes are also supported
    • Example: F16

Request Stock name and Lot code

This setting is Enabled by default and will prompt the user at the time of blank creation to add these fields:

Save used blank after toolpath generation

This will prompt MillBox to automatically save progress on any blank that has been successfully calculated. This takes place in teh background and is transparent to the user. It is recommended to leave this option on to avoid discrepancies in your milled materials.

Create subfolder for used blanks (Product Name)

This Check Box indicates that you want this particular disc to be sorted separately from the rest of the discs filed under the parent material selected in the first field (Material Name). The Product Name is used as the name of the sub-directory that a disc is filed under when saved:
