What is File Hub?
FileHub is a newly introduced application that comes with recent updates to Millbox.
It provides an overview of all your production files simultaneously. You can easily filter through files based on specific criteria to efficiently organize your daily production tasks.
FileHub succeeds Lab3dExplorer, retaining all its previous features while incorporating new functionalities:
- Updated UI (User Interface).
- Integration between different MillBox installations
- Pre-sorting & Organization of files for milling made simple. Just click the header of the column that you wish to modify / sort by:
Features
Preview and Quality Assurance of STL Files prior to entering production
- Manual rotation of files prior to milling - This can be useful when STL files are flipped or output with an incorrect orientation from CAD.
- Manual designation of go and no-go zones for streamlining placement of Support Pins
- Check file status to see which parts have been imported, calculated, and what Jobs they are associated with.
- Manually specify details if the CAD information is incomplete.
- Select files and send them to Millbox for milling.
Navigation and Display
These buttons enable you to easily navigate through your Windows folders while looking for files to analyze / prepare.
- Back - browse in the previous folder
- Forward - browse in the next folder
- Up - browse in main folder
- Home - browse in starting folder Note: the directory for the Home button defaults to the desktop but can be set in the FileHub Settings in the Root Directory Parameter.
- Refresh - Reloads the content of current folder (if you cannot see a file that you recently placed in this folder, try refreshing)
File Options
These options allow you to perform various operations on the selected file:
- CUT - Cutting a file will move it to wherever you decide to paste it.
- COPY - Copying a file will duplicate it to wherever you decide to paste it.
- PAST - Pasting a file creates a copy or moves a file (this depends on if you cut or copied the file initially)
- DELETE - Delete removes the file from your computer
File Tools and Settings
- Rotate Part - Allows us to rotate the parts to the proper orientation before importing them into the CAM.
- Analyze Object (Repair) - Analyzes the object for mesh errors and provides the option to repair it.
Dynamic Preview
Cross Sectioning Tools:
These tools allow you the capability to slice your part along 3 separate axes:
Toggle Translucency
This tool toggles the translucency of the restoration so you can check the integrity of the mesh / thicknesses.
Support Pin Tools:
You have 3 x Support Pin Tools Available for use:
1. Designate Support Pin No-Go Zones (Red Dots) - These are areas that the CAM should avoid placing support pins
2. Designate Preferred Support Pin Placement Zones (Green Dots) - These are points that the CAM will place support pins
3. Remove any zones placed
Measurements:
These tools allow you to take measurements on the part:
1. Point to Point Measurement - This tool measures the distance between two points on a file
2.Thickness Measurements - This tool renders a color-coded layer over the part depicting areas where thickness may fall below a minimum threshold
