Multi-Shaded Visualization

Using The Multi-Shaded / Multi-Layered visualization in MillBox is crucial to proper placement of your restoration within the precise layers. When a restoration is selected, users can rotate the view to facilitate precise orientation and nesting within the multi-layered material. Layers are projected onto the intersecting surfaces of the restoration for easy validation of placement.

Multi-Shade (Multi-Layer) Configuration

This menu is accessible by opening the Materials Menu (Ctrl+D) and opening any material with the Multishade option selected:

Setting up Layers

Number of Shades

Start by setting the number of shades / layers that you want to have displayed in the material. The overall height that was set on the material's configuration page will be listed here.

NOTE: At this point you cannot change the overall thickness - if you wish to do that, close this menu and do so on the material's main config window.

Layer Heights

You can set the various heights of each layer (in mm) from the top of the disc to the bottom. Layers are visualized as displayed in this menu and previewed on the left.

Shaded

This cell allows you to set the shade / color that will be displayed. When clicked, another window will open, allowing you to set a color manually or with any specific color code desired:

NOTE: It is important to consider the standard backgrounds that can be found within MillBox and how your layers may contrast (or not) with these backgrounds.

Nuance to next

This check box toggles the gradiant layer option signifying that the shades transition through this layer:

NOTE: Transition layers can also be added in and divided as individual layers to suit the material's requirements:

Password Protect

Once your material has been setup within the configuration, you can choose to protect / lock this information with a password. This password is required in order to access to view / edit the multishade configuration window.

NOTE: DO NOT lose your password - it cannot be recovered.
