Thread Cylinder Detection

AddAutoThreadHoleDetection.png

This feature allows you to manually define a thread drilling axis within a cylindrical passing-through hole, it is mostly used in bars to input an attachment that will connect into another structure. The Thread Drilling Axis is designated by a pink line that you can visualize within a hole. The thread axis is not automatically detected.

When detecting thread cylinders, as in the usual cylinder axis detection, you can select between detecting by a single point, or with 3 different points in cases where the hole couldn't be detected using only a single one.

In order for the operation to be done, the correspondent step needs to be activated in the Strategy Options:

On Cinematic Simulation, the visualization of the hole can differ depending on the tool utilized in the CAM config: if a flat tool is being used, during the kinematic simulation the threaded surface won't be shown, but if a thread shaped tool was selected to operate the step, the geometry threaded in the hole will be visible. In both cases, if correctly configured, the thread will be executed during the milling process.

NOTE: if you are utilizing the threading tool, in the step of milling the hole a collision of Tool and Workpiece will be displayed because theoretically we are milling part of the STL to make the thread. In this case, user would disregard the collision message
