Article summary

Partial Execution

After you've calculated your job once, you will have additional options that show up in the CAM when you click on Start Mill.
This will allow you to select where you would like the milling process to start in the program heirarchy.

Sometimes you may want to re-run the same job, but start further into the milling process than from the beginning of the program.

Here are 2 common scenarios where this may be the case - although others may arise:

  • Power-loss, resulting in losing your place in the program - Unable to resume on the machine's controller.
    • Instead of having to re-mill the program from the start and ghost milling over what was already completed, you can run a partial execution.
  • If you forgot to select some additional detail / anatomical detail operations, you can re-run the program and re-select your Milling Options
  • You can also selectively remove some operations from this list but BE CAREFUL!

NOTE: Be very cautious when using this function. If you skip the wrong toolpaths, you can damage your part, tool and / or machine. You are fully responsible for making sure that you know exactly where the machine left off and to validate that you're starting the milling process from the correct location in the job. If you're not sure, you should always re-mill the job from the beginning to avoid any damage / incidents.
