Replace Strategies
The Replace Strategy Menu allows you to customize what tools your replace libraries are calling for and This menu gives you access to assign Standard or Custom milling strategies to existing Implant Replace Libraries and also customize the tool assigned within said milling strategy:
FILTERS
You can use these filters to set preferences for a specific implant system in any given material. The changes you make in this menu will only impact this machine>material>interface combination.
STRATEGY OPTIONS
You can choose to use MillBox's standard milling strategy for your implant interface, but in many cases, most users would prefer to use a custom strategy. Using a custom strategy as part of your replace library eliminates any potential variability from one strategy to the next and ensures that any particular operations and tooling required to mill the interface is properly set and executed during milling.
Custom Strategy Chart
When you select to use a custom strategy, you'll be presented with the following window. Here you should check the interface chart as a legend to find the appropriate strategy to use.
NOTE: DO NOT use the interface type chart as your selection - this file is only for reference. You must select an appropriate strategy from the yellow-higlighted area. and validate that the graphical area matches key criteria from the implant interface that you're trying to mill.
Select the Replace Strategy
Once you've determined the approriate strategy - select it, review the additional conditions in the preview image and click the check mark to continue:
OPERATION LIST & TOOL ASSIGNMENT
After the strategy is selected, you will need to double check the list of operations and make sure that necessary tools are properly assigned.
NOTE: If you need help deciding which tools, you can consult the specific strategy html file when selecting the custom strategy. You will find suggestions for proper tooling - Here's an example highlighted in Yellow below:
Based on the above examples, we abbrieviate tool codes according to the diameter and profile.
D15B or D15T = Diameter 1.5mm Ball or Diameter 1.5mm Toric
Key:
- B = Ball Nosed
- F = Flat
- T = Toric / Corner Radius
