Specify a Secondary Finishing Axis
Specifying a secondary finishing axis will adjust the occlusal side finishing toolpaths to follow the orientation specified with this tool. This tool should only be used on parts that require the entire occlusal toolpath to shift. Examples of these parts would be Implant Bars or Abutments that have angled top-caps (split-files):
NOTE: Here we can see an example of an abutment with an angled top-cap. If we were manufacturing this as part of a split-file (with a co-designed crown), we will need to ensure there are no undercuts (shaded in Blue) left un-machined as these un-machined areas would prevent the crown from properly seating:
Autodetect Axis from 2 Points
To use this tool, simply select 2 surfaces along a parallel plane. The CAM will automatically detect the Secondary Finishing Axis based on these points.
Assign View to Secondary Axis
To use this tool, simply orient your camera / view to the insertion / axis direction desired and click anywhere on the part for which you want to define a secondary finishing axis:
